Keynotes
Developer Preview theme UI updates
Normally, you can expect updated Windows 8 theme after new build is leaked in a day or two. However, it takes time to polish resources for proper theme. Now is the time I considered 'This is it'. Aero 8 Metro Mod 1.5 by our deviantart friend @jTc42 is work with quality with well refinements. I also tweaked his theme file a little to get the same colorization as ones in Windows 8 but that wouldn't matter if you use Auto-colorization feature.
Metro Start UI:
In Windows 8 Transformation Pack, I started using Newgen instead of Mosaic with Windows 8 UI style. Now Windows 8 UX Pack will be using Newgen as well with my personal configuration that resemble ones in Windows 8 default configuration. It starts as full screen UI like ones in Windows 8 so if you want to switch back to desktop area, click on Desktop tile at the bottom left to return to desktop. You can click on the right edge of screen (dark grey bar) to open StartBar and click on Start to show Metro UI again.
Windows 8 Metro Start Orb:
Although Start Orb changer is claimed to be safe memory patching explorer.exe start orb resources. However, Methods like changing winlogon's shell in Start Orb Changer is considered unsafe and potentials security risks, ViOrb is still the safest way for changing Start orb without causing any security risks. It may have some bugs with Windows 7 but can still handle it to display properly. Hopefully Lee'll be back and update this project again soon.
New wallpapers:
For christ's sake, we finally get tons of new wallpapers from Windows 8 and I put them in Screen wallpaper group. For Desktop/Logon Screen, I added new 'Developer Preview' option for default wallpapers. You may notice that Logon Screen ones isn't plain green like real Windows 8 but what I checked from system files convinced me to keep it like that. It could be lock screen UI or whatever in near future but this is certainly background for logon UI related stuff in this build.
Fixes and improvements:
Received complaints about asking for admin rights everytime on startup with UX Launcher and now it's fixed for good. Everything will run smooth and fine with changes and improvements based on Windows 8 Transformation Pack. Also added .NET Framework 4.0 requirements check and proper uninstaller too.
Thanks to enthusiasm people like jTc42 and staff in Newgen team. They managed to pull out awesome updates within one week after release of Developer Preview build. Their recent updates yesterday made this whole pack a lot more awesome. I hope you guys will enjoy this release and it won't be soon before long for Windows 8 Transformation Pack 2.0 to get more awesomeness XD.
